At Del Mar Academy, we believe that a great school needs support from all of our stakeholders - families, students, community members, and teachers. We invite and encourage parents to take part in the various committees that support Del Mar Academy’s growth while helping us achieve our Mission and Vision goals. Below, you will find a list of Del Mar Academy’s various school committees and their descriptions:
Yearbook Committee: This committee focuses on collecting pictures throughout the year and compiling them to create the end of the year yearbook.
Scholarship Committee: The scholarship committee leads a non-profit organization which provides funding to Costa Rican citizens from the Nosara community to attend DMA. To learn more about the non-profit foundation they lead, please visit the Scholarships.
Environmental Committee: This group focuses on raising environmental awareness at DMA and in our surrounding community. The group also researches environmental education opportunities (“EE”) and recommends ways to incorporate EE into the DMA curriculum. The Environmental Committee oversees our efforts to achieve the annual Costa Rica Blue Ecological Flag and is the co-founder of the project “Adopt a Blue Flag School”, which aims to help local schools obtain this national eco-label.
Welcome Committee:This group aims to welcome new families into the Del Mar Academy community and Nosara.
Community Service Committee: Members within this group work with DMA teachers on classroom community service projects and fundraise money for the community on behalf of DMA.
Talent Show Committee: Every year, DMA hosts a talent show created and performed by the students. The Committee consists of individuals who help support and organize the children’s efforts. |
